For the last five years, my work has primarily been depictions of the human face on a large sacle. I work in chalk pastel, charcoal, ink and PVA glue on heavy-weight cartridge and watercolour paper.

The images I use come from photographs in magazines although as the drawing progresses, facial characteristics and expression change so the final image is sometimes different from the original photograph.

I also work into the paper using sandpaper and erasers, giving the drawing a textured and worn appearance. I attempt to convey expression, emotion and the passing of time.
