BACKGROUND |
I was born in 1947 in Southport, which was, at that time, still
part of Lancashire. My first art training was at Wigan and District
Mining and Technical College in what was known in those days (1963-1965)
as “commercial design”. This was where I acquired a preference for
gouache as a medium.
I married a fellow student and continued to make art throughout
a serious of jobs from vet’s assistant to artist’s model, a succession
of addresses from Lancashire to London, and the birth of a son.
I trained to teach at All Saints College in Tottenham from 1969
to 1972, taught for a bit, came back to Lancashire, had another
child (a daughter this time) and did a degree in Fine Art at what
was then Preston Polytechnic. I joined Luneside Studios in February
1985. |
