  The images that drive my work come from the elements of nature and a distillation of the experiences of every day life - sights, thoughts, energies from situations and so on.

I have always been particularly interested in water. On this theme and in general, I have been experimenting with the process of layering strokes and pigment to create depth and calmness until I can physically recognise the depth and calmness I am trying to reach.

Flexibility is a vital part of my work, and I strive not to commit myself to a particular style. I am determined to discover where my unconscious will take me in my work, rather than to produce something based on a particular self-imposed style or method of working.

By working in such a free and abstract way, I hope I will be able to find out what I am truly striving for by looking at my work as a continuing whole over a period of time.
