| I work primarily from photographs, which enable
me to control the specific look and atmosphere I want to create in my paintings.
The type of imagery that I respond to via the camera lens is interiors and still life devoid of the figure. It is hoped that by removing any physical human presence in the work their aura is intensified rather than diminished. Though painted in a traditional manner I hope my paintings address issues
such as what values we put on representations of our environment both
in terms of narrative and formal concerns. |
